OTHER: conceptualization
Poste Restante offers social framework and artistic conceptualization for larger academic or artistic gatherings.
By carefully studying the aims of the event, its potentials and its challenges, Poste Restante seeks to offer support - either by offer a parallel service running alongside with the regular program filling in the gaps, or simply by hijacking the event in order make it better fit the stated purposes. Consequently, Poste Restante sometimes acts in the role of the Host/Hostess, and sometimes as an autonomous side service.
Perfect Performance
Visiting an international performance festival can be exhausting. There are shows to see, mingling to attend. At Perfect Performance Poste Restante decided to open up a festival service tailored to cater to the visitors more earthly needs. A fresh pair of socks, aspirin, a cigarette, pleasant company by the bar, phone charging, a tampon, some mouth wash, a razor, chocolate, TV-time, tips about after parties, cab numbers, a condom, contact lens solution. The needs can be varied.
Poste Restante took the right to approve or decline a request in relation to the motivations presented by the visitor. All requests were handled with total discretion.
Commissioned by and performed at Perfect Performance at Clarion Hotel Skanstull in Stockholm, 23rd - 31st of October 2009.
Performers:
Erik Berg

During the inauguration of Stockholm University of the Arts three tailored activities was provided:
Collaboration Counselling
Here you could book an appointment where you, alone or with your collaborator, could talk about the emotional challenges of collaborative work. Do you feel abandoned? Frustrated? Do you want to save a collaboration in danger or do you want some outer perspective on a collaboration that failed? All our counsellors worked under a vow of confidentiality.
Collaboration Counselling was undertaken in collaboration with the group KAi.
An Open Space seminar – The Future of Learning
An Open Space seminar in which you were encouraged to explore questions of learning: How do artistic researchers identify their learning needs? What is the ideal learning space? How might we reconsider encounters such as conferences to make these more appropriate for artists?
Discussions took place in custom-made conversation rooms made as similar as possible to rooms where we know that good ideas have seen the light.
After party
Poste Restante was throwing an after party, with lukewarm beer and loud music (making networking impossible). Partying at work is an art in itself. It is not unusual to find it hard to let go and enjoy yourself in a situation of important relations. Take this chance to maybe feel a little cool for a while.
Took place under the name Loitering with intent – a Feast of Research at Stockholm University of the Arts in Stockholm, 5th-7th of March 2014

Poste Restante is supported by Swedish Arts Council. Skills of Economy Session - For the Love and Fear of Welfare
The seminar hosted by Baltic Circle Festival puts focus on the societal, economical, ecological and geopolitical aspects of the welfare state. Does the welfare state still have a value as the basis for economic and social agencies, and for the arts?
Poste Restante was invited to construct a social choreography for the event. With the help of a detailed budgeting of all collective resources (such as coffee, heating, speaking time and biscuits) Poste Restante sought to make some of the underlaying structures of privileges and power visible. In order to tackle the imbalance Poste Restante introduced the tailor made currency ”Baltics", distributed carefully in order to even up screwed relations.
Commissioned by Jussi Koitela, for Baltic Circle Festival 2015.
Took place in Helsinki (FI), 13th of November 2015.

Stefan Åkesson Matklubben Blekingegatan 16 is an initiative from PJADAD and Bohm Bohm Room where a chef and an artist together conceptualize one evening in a studio specifically build for the purpose, located at Blekingegatan 16 in Stockholm.
In collaboration with the chef Linn Söderström, the evening's framework Promiscuous Synesti was conceptualized and offered to the visitors in the form of a menu consisting of classical ingredients and psychosocial moods.
The performance approaches the dinner situation as something that transcends the intake of food and tries to break into the social, through synesthetic connections between taste, language and fantasies. An example of this was the main course: "fallow deer with cabbage, sauerkraut cream and brussel sprouts served under threat from the other" which, in addition to the obvious ingredients, also included a man-identified person of ethnic origin from former Yugoslavia, bomb jacket, jeep, feather batong, mobile phone and music by Maria W Horn, CircleSquare and BLVCK.
Promiscuous Synesti took place the 28th of January 2017, at Blekingegatan 16, Stockholm.
